Sinopacific delivers first SP AHTS
2015-04-29
Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group has successfully delivered its first independently designed medium-sized anchor-handling tug supply (AHTS) offshore vessel in the SP series on 28 April. Ossoy, the first of four newbuilds in the SPA150 AHTS series, was delivered to Russian shipowner FEMCO Group at the site of Zhejiang Shipbuilding on 28 April, a statement of Sinopacific said on 29 April. The design and building of Ossoy has helped Sinopacific upgrade its project management levels for offshore vessels, even though there had been uncertainties over the on-time delivery of the vessel, the company said. “To accomplish our proactive strategic planning, we have to leverage a full range of technical innovations and project management practices. In the future, we will continue to engage in realistic work and make constant improvements,” said Simon Liang, chairman and CEO of Sinopacific. Ossoy marks the first medium-sized AHTS in the SP series, which is the in-house brand belonging to Sinopacific. It is designed by Shanghai Design Associates (SDA), which is the Sinopacific offshore supply vessel design team. With an overall length of 72 m, a moulded breadth of 17.2 m, and a 515 m² cargo deck with 10 tonne per m² uniform load, this environmental-friendly vessel uses a Class 2 Dynamic Positioning System (DP2) and is suitable for different kinds of offshore support work, including anchoring, tugging, external firefighting (Fi-Fi 2), oil pollutant recovery, as well as loading kinds of liquid and dry cargoes.
